These replacement visors fit the early Bell M5 helmets, they replace the original 3.0mm thick visors with the part number B450 . They are made from 2.0mm thick Lexan polycarbonate which offers a weight saving over the original visor without any loss of strength/ impact protection. They are tested to BSI standard requirements of a 6.0mm dia. steel ball being shot at them at 267mph and withstanding the impact.
They feature a lock down peg hole on the bottom edge of the visor as shown in the picture below.
They do not fit the later Bell M4R and Bell M5X helmets which have three position curved ratchet slots but do not have a lock down peg hole on the bottom edge .These helmets require our replacement visor part number BHV576A.
The visors are all BSI approved and fully U.K. road legal apart from the dark tint option which is sold for off road use only as they are not certified for U.K. public road use.
The clear visors give give 97 % U.V. light protection and the smoke tint visors give 100 % U.V. light protection.
