Made in the U.K. by Bob Heath Visors Ltd from 2.0 mm Lexan polycarbonate, all of these visors have an abrasion resistant coating only on both surfaces apart from the clear anti fog which have an abrasion resistant outer coating and fog resistant coating on the inner surface.
Tinted visors are recommended for daytime use only and are stamped as such as per the BSI standard.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION FOR THE DARK TINT SMOKE COLOUR OPTION
They have a light transmission of 20 % and they give 100 % U.V. light protection .
The BHV dark tinted race visor is not legal for U.K. public road use (and possibly other regions).
This visor is supplied for non public road use only -such as circuit racing, track day use or on private roads.
It is your sole responsibility to know the legal restrictions for visors in your region. We cannot be held liable for any consequences arising from the misuse or illegal use of this product.
All tinted visors are recommended for daytime use only and are stamped as such.
For any helmet visor to be legal for use on uk public roads it should be tested and certified to BS4110 or CE marked.
BHV dark race visors are made from abrasion resistant Lexan polycarbonate. This material meets the abrasion resistance test, the colour recognition test and the highest grade of impact resistance for BS4110 as recommended by the Auto Cycle Union for road racing – we optionally have our visors tested to the very highest impact test standard (ZZA) where a 6mm steel ball is fired at 120 meters per second (267 mph).
The light transmission requirement of BS4110 (eye protectors for vehicle users) for a visor to carry the kitemark is a minimum of 50%. this BHV dark race visor has a light transmission of approximately 20%. This follows a recommendation contained in guide lines of BS2724 ‘general purpose sun glare eye protectors’ (for such usages as driving a car, school bus, truck etc) where a light transmission of between 18% and 29% is recommended. Because eye protectors for vehicle users are not subject the same sun protection levels as ‘general purpose sun glare eye protectors this visor is illegal to use on a U.K. public road (and possibly other regions).
